About Netka Croonenborghs

Artist - Graphic designer - Collector

Born and raised in Belgium by my Polish babcia (grandmother) and from Polish-Russian descent. Growing up in a colorful international environment which lead to thrive in all kind of conditions and speaking 5 languages.

I now finally have a studio of my own based in a disused school in the city of Beringen, an area surrounded by existing industrial heritage buildings of a large former mining site. Keywords: family - light - nature - people - chocolate - books - Belgium - Russia - Poland - optimism - ABBA - coalmine - music - kisses - touches.

♻I’m so much a critical thinker in daily life. But when it comes to painting the doer’s brushstrokes flow vividly onto the canvas. The inspiration sneaks in from everywhere, even from a Celestial Seasonings package. As a child a was alone a lot and bored. But that learned me to use my imagination, be patient and to sit all alone in a studio for hours with only me for good company!
♻Sustainability for me is a key issue. For me for example: I will go for more artworks that can be rolled up to be shipped to avoid the crating processes and use of timber, let alone the extra space it saves in airplanes…

♻Best advice from my Polish grandmother: ”be nice and generous to others and take good care of your teeth.” I want that to seep through my life and art. As long as I evolve positively, my art will too.

♻ The joy of painting – you’re the creator and guardian for a while until you let the painting go for someone else to love.
